Project narrative
The Integrated Development Programme is a three-year rural development initiative focused on improving the socio-economic condition of rural families and building self-reliant communities. The programme works with women, Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, and vulnerable communities to strengthen sustainable livelihoods, food security, and access to essential services.
Through natural resource management, sustainable agriculture, and livelihood promotion, the project addresses challenges related to poverty, climate vulnerability, inadequate irrigation, health, nutrition, drinking water, and education.
Key interventions include pond construction and renovation, rainwater harvesting, check dams, WADI plantation, solar-based irrigation, kitchen gardens, goat rearing, backyard poultry, and skill development. The programme also strengthens Village Development Committees and Water User Groups to promote community ownership and long-term sustainability.
