Sustainable Livelihoods
Holistic Rural Development Programme (HRDP)
Integrated rural development work with about 3,000 small and marginal farming families across 15 villages.
Project narrative
The Holistic Rural Development Programme works towards improving the economic and social well-being of rural households through integrated and sustainable development interventions. The programme focuses on small and marginal farming families, with special attention to women, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and vulnerable communities.
The project promotes sustainable agriculture, climate-resilient farming, horticulture, goat rearing, poultry, fisheries, and nutrition gardens. Natural Resource Management interventions such as irrigation wells, ponds, and solar-based irrigation systems aim to strengthen water security and agricultural productivity.
The programme also strengthens Self-Help Groups, Farmers Interest Groups, and Federations while creating opportunities for skill development and entrepreneurship. Health, education, sanitation, and access to government welfare schemes are integrated to support holistic community development.
